DB started the topic Addressing for Cobra 36M/72M
Is there a way to make sure the 2 banks in a 36M and the 4 banks in a 72M are addressed near the same positions? For example, if I have a 3 position shoot site (Left, Center and Right), how can I ensure all 4 banks for the 72M are near the same position vs 1 bank for the right side and the other 3 banks for the left side?

DB started the topic Fade/Dim Par Lights via DMX
Is there a way in Finale to fade lights vs a simple on/off. I’m trying to do a gradual fade-to-black and not have the lights suddenly shut off. I searched the forum and someone asked the same question back in 2018. It wasn’t possible back then, but I’m hoping that functionality is available now. Thanks.

Thanks Drew.
The video clarified my approach and partially answered another question. Based on the video, it appears there is no automated way to assign non-DMX flames to a single pin and it will have to be done manually. In the video example that’s easy. But in a real show it would be painful to assign everything manually, defeating one of…Read More

DB replied to the topic Galaxis G-Flame and Cobra
I got it to work. I don’t know if how I did it was the best way, but I created a new effect and called it G-Flame and added it to a pyro position. I then fired that position like a normal event vs a DMX event. Seems to work fine, but my timing is off (0.0 and 0.2 prefire didn’t help) so I’ll need to play around with that.

I’m looking for instructions on how to set up G-Flame positions in Finale for a Cobra firing system using the Cobra G-Flame Cue adapters (https://www.cobrafiringsystems.com/harness_gflame). I can’t find any documentation that walks through the steps. I’m assuming they still need to be set up as DMX fixtures in Finale or will they be regular pyro?…Read More

DB replied to the topic Labels and e-match count
That was it.
I’m using the Hobbyist version and once I added the pin restriction by position, the labels made more sense. I initially used the module restriction by position, but I needed 20 modules addressing the show that way vs the 16 I needed addressing the show using pin restriction by position (I only have 16 modules). Without either…Read More

Thanks. I just realized why they are not all using the same pin even though they are shooting at the same time. The are in different positions. Your response made that fact jump out at me for some reason. Thanks!

DB started the topic Labels and e-match count
This is my first year using Finale and I’m trying to understand the labels I just printed (labels by address). Address 1-14 has three mines and one slice all shooting at the same time, but it just says 1/1 e-match. Address 1-10 has two purple mines and two white mines shooting at the same time and it says 1/1 e-matches and 1/2 e-matches.
Can…Read More

Hi DB, in the interest of simplicity, the Lite version of Finale 3D doesn’t include module constraints in the addressing dialog. But if you’re running Hobbyist or Pro, you can definitely address your show using the algorithm and assign your standard 1.4 to different modules than your 1.4 Pro. Are you running Hobbyist or Pro… -

DB started the topic Addressing By Type?
Is there a way to address a show so that a certain type of firework is restricted to 1-2 modules? I’m creating a show that has both 1.4 and 1.4Pro and I want all of the 1.4 fireworks on the same module(s) separate from 1.4 Pro. Is this possible automatically or will I have to do this manually?
Thanks.

DB started the topic Need some help modifying a DMX fixture
I copied one of the Cobra Par effect to My Effects and I tried to modify it to cycle through all the colors for 45 seconds instead of just one at a time. When I add the modified light to a position and run it, it explodes like it’s a pyro position. Strangest thing.
What did I do wrong?
