• Thanks for the suggestions.  I’ll keep an eye out.

I exported the script window to Excel, then cross referenced it with my Cobra script and it looks like nothing else was missing.

I’ll keep an eye on types (don’t think it was DMX, since I’m not using any of that in this show) and be sure to save a copy of the broken file for…Read More

  • This will be the worst troubleshooting email ever, because I managed to fix the problem already, and don’t have a test case Finale file that replicates the problem.  But curious if anyone has ever run into this problem.

Had 3 flame effects in my show.

Just happened to notice that they weren’t on the inventory pull sheet report when picking…Read More

  • Congrats to the finalists, and thanks for the opportunity!  Looking forward to next time.

  • In the fan creation tool, it would be very helpful to be able to either define a total range (as it works now) or start/end angles so asymmetric fans can be created more easily.

  • We’ve established in other threads that my computer sucks.  : )

If there is anything you ever need me to test, just let me know.

Thanks for getting it on the list.

  • I’ve been watching Finale renders online, and I noticed some people’s strobes and ground bursts are really obvious and easy to see, where when I render, they come out as tiny flashes.  Ground bursts, in particular, go so quickly and are so small, they can be missed entirely.

This is what happens when I render.  (And my camera is actually c…Read More

  • Angles clarification.  PROX and FRONT say no angle restrictions, but that only certain items can be shot horizontally.

For all other items, Is anything less than 90 degrees “not horizontal,” or is there a generally accepted max angle (e.g: 60, 80) we need to stick to?

    Thanks,

  • Email sent with the files you requested.  Let me know if you need anything else, or if there is any more help I can provide.

  • Completely understand why the rules can’t change for this year, but I put a vote in with Pyro_72050000 for next year’s rules.  It would be great if some of the prox-type flame, strobe, etc. were allowed behind the front row to have the ability to get some depth in the field.

  • Any time I render a video, whenever there are no effects in progress, the left half of the screen is black.  As soon as an effect hits, it renders normally.

    Here is my version info:

Anyone have a workaround or know the cause?

  • As a hobby shooter, the Lite version put Finale back into a price range we could justify.  For the most part, it does everything a backyard amateur needs.

However, in prepping to shoot my first show off the new version, I did find a gap.  Creating chains is a very important feature for small users.  Hobbyists often work with extremely li…Read More

  • There were two buttons in Finale Business that were quite helpful, but didn’t seem to make it into 3d.  One increased the height of the script bar to make it easier to view large numbers of simultaneous cues, and the other toggled between “burst and line” and “shell descriptions” in the script bar.

It’s possible the options are still there,…Read More

  • Found a small, but aggravating, bug in the interface.  If you close all open shows while your inventory is set to Per Show, when you open another file, all your column show-hide settings will be lost, turning every column back on.  As long as there is inventory still displaying in the list, such as when on the My Effects category, column s…Read More

  • Hi, I’m Brad from Kentucky.  I’ve been a Finale Business user for quite a few years, for hobbyist shows.  Made the leap to Finale 3d recently.  It has been a bit of a learning curve, but it’s clear there is a lot of capability there.  Looking forward to learning the new software.
