    Hi,

    was scripting a show the other night all fine, Parallels then did a update. Now I do not get the visual effect showing on screen.

    you can see the effect in the timeline and you can see the trajectory lines just not the effect. I have started a brand new show and get the same thing.

    Even I I add new effects get the lines just not visual effect.

    Has anyone seen this before, guessing its a setting somewhere just don’t know if its Finale3D or Parallels.

    Thanks for reporting this, and for the details.

     

    This is a new issue that’s happening for Mac users with with the latest Parallels update (Parallels Desktop 27) that was just released 2 days ago (August 25, 2026).

     

    We’re aware of the issue and are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience. I’ll be sure to post any relevant updates here.

    Effect rendering in Parallels 27 has been fixed.

     

    For anyone running on Mac with Parallels 27, please download the 2026.08.31 beta release of Finale 3D (or later) from the download page:

    NOTE: The 2026.08.31 beta release has a minor graphics refresh issue where the Design Window may not immediately redraw effects or changes after some operations. If this happens, simply hover your mouse over any position in the Design Window or any effect in the Timeline and this will refresh the display.

    More graphical issues with Parallels 27 have been fixed.

     

    For anyone running on Mac with Parallels 27, please download the 2026.09.08 beta release of Finale 3D (or later) from the download page to fix the previously reported graphics refresh issue with Parallels 27.

    Parallels 27 rendering bug reintroduced in Finale 3D 2026.09.16 beta version.

     

    For users on Mac running Parallels 27, please avoid the 2026.09.16 beta release of Finale 3D. This version reintroduces a Mac rendering bug that causes effect simulations not to appear. We are working on a fix now and expect to publish a new beta release within 24 hours. In the meantime, please stick with the 2026.09.08 beta release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Effect rendering in Parallels 27 fixed again.
