We have been working on a new platform alongside Finale 3D that we are excited to share with the community: Finale DB.

Finale DB is a free, online fireworks database built to make it easier to discover, request, and work with product and effect simulations. You can browse both consumer and professional products, watch demo videos, and search across brands, all at:

    πŸ‘‰ finaledb.com

From Finale DB, you can add effects directly to My Effects and use them in Finale 3D. If something is missing, you can request products, brands, or simulations in just a few clicks.

You can also share your own simulations for products that already exist in Finale DB. When you publish a sim, it becomes immediately available for everyone to use.

At the moment, sharing is limited to products that already exist in Finale DB. Soon, we will be adding full community sharing, which will allow you to publish any simulation under your own personal brand.

Finale DB is live and open to everyone β€” check it out and let us know what you think.

This is awesome. I find this a much easier way to add existing inventory to My Effects than searching through all of the various catalogs. When will users be able to add their own VDLs and sims? Β The real value proposition here is the enablement of crowd sourcing.

You can submit sims for products that are already listed on Finale DB now, and your sims go live instantly. πŸ˜€

If you have sims for products that are already listed on Finale DB, go ahead and submit those, especially if those products don’t already have sims! If you have sims for products that aren’t currently listed on Finale DB, you can submit those too, though they won’t go live instantly (and that requires also adding some information about the product), but rest assured we’re working on making that process as fast and easy as it can be, too!

I started to check this out when one of my sims went missing. Seems like a good idea!Β  However, the site doesn’t like my Finale3D credentials.Β  wrt issue, I suspect I saved the sim under per show setting instead of my Effects as usual. Is there a way to search my shows without opening each one?

Hey Star_Stuff, I tested Finale DB login with your account and didn’t encounter any issues. Are you still having trouble logging into Finale DB?

If you saved an effect directly in a show, it will be in that show’s “Per-show effects” collection. Unfortunately, there’s really no way to search for an effect within a show without opening the show in Finale 3D.
