In the supplier catalogs there is one for Dominator and one for Dominator 1.4 PRO.
Why does the 1.4 PRO not have any of the 62mm single shots?
It seems like the Dominator catalog has more proline then the Dominator 1.4 PRO catalog.
What am I missing here?

Hi PyroExec, by popular demand, we’re in the process of splitting Dominator into two catalogs, one catalog for 1.3G professional products and one catalog for consumer and 1.4G Pro products. As we migrate the products, we’re overhauling the simulations. Going forward, our intention is to only add products with good quality sims to the catalogs. The new catalog doesn’t include the 62mm single shot items simply because we just haven’t quite gotten to them yet.

Hi Drew,
I noticed the dominator 62mm single shots where moved over to to the Dominator 1.4 PRO catalog. With this update the effect height is significantly lower now on the 62mm single shots. I just want to confirm this update is correct, because this lower height changes a lot for a show I’m working on.

Hey PyroExec, the 62mm Dominator sims weren’t just moved, we created a brand-new sim for each product to more closely match the manufacturer demo videos!
A 2.5″ professional display shell (which is 63.5mm dia.) has a default burst height of 76m (250ft) in Finale 3D. When we created the new sims, we made an educated guess that a 1.4G 62mm shell wouldn’t break as high as a comparably sized 1.3G professional display shell. This is just an educated guess. When it comes to things like burst height, diameter, etc., often the best we can do is guess because manufacturers don’t provide height specifications for their products.
In response to your concern, today I reached out to Ed Vasel, the US rep. for Dominator. His instinct is that the 62mm single shot shells break almost as high as a commercial 2.5″ shell. So, I’ve gone ahead and increased the height a bit.
When we make sims, we do our best to make them representative of the real-life products. At the same time, it’s always worth taking any demo video or simulation with a grain of salt. When it comes to the real-world products, all kinds of characteristics, including height can change from one batch to the next. If you’re doing a show where the height is critical, there’s no substitute for real-world testing.

Good to know. Would you mind sharing what other catalogs have been verified?
To help differentiate catalogs, we’ve added “✔️Finale Verified” to the titles of all catalogs in which the sims have been developed or vetted by the Finale team.

I noticed that yesterday. You may want to add a note about what that means in the alert message on top of the supplier catalog page.
You might be the first person to notice the blue info box at the top of the page!
