    Hi everyone,

I’ve modified the 3D world settings, specifically lowering the brightness according to my design preferences, as well as adjusting the camera position. Do I need to revert to the same settings as the official design model (like sky brightness) before submitting the file ?

Thanks a lot and good luck to all!

    Thomas

Hi Thomas, adjusting the brightness settings and adding camera viewpoint presets will not lead to disqualification or any kind of penalty, but it’s best if you restore the brightness settings to ensure consistency for the judges.

I’ve done this in the previous two years.  The sun doesn’t set in the East.  Just made sense to adjust it.   However, this model was plain.  I added a little water on the river for visualization.  Should I remove that too?

You can submit your show either way. A rotated sky dome image and added reflective water won’t help your score, but it also won’t hurt it.

Thanks for the quick response and clarification.  I was about to submit when I saw Thomas’ post.   I hadn’t thought about it before. 🙂

After the winners are announced, will it be possible to request a summary of the show you prepared, including a detailed score breakdown (e.g., a total out of 100 points) via a separate email?

Yes, as in the past, you will be able to request feedback/scores for your show although it might take me a little longer to respond this time around just because the competition started a little later than normal so we will be into May by the time we get everything finalized (which will be into our busy season here).  Hopefully everyone understands and is patient with me 😉

In my opinion, the shooting site and design template for PyroJam China was very nice, with fireworks setup over a width of almost 500 meters.

I’m wondering how many submissions were actually received this year? Is this more/less than last year?

Yes, the fireworks accident may prevent products needed for the shows from being produced due to the industry wide disruption. The timing and location of the live competition are being reviewed but we are still very early in the process. We will share updates as plans are finalized.

Yes, the fireworks accident did temporary delay the announcement of the finalists, but that delay is over and the announcement is coming very soon.

Now that the results are out and the 4 finalists have been chosen, congratulations to all of them!!!  Which email address can other competitors use if they would like to ask for feedback on their work? 🙂

Hello All, anyone who would like feedback on their work should email me at timj@pyrojamusa.com.  One thing I do ask is for everyone’s patience as we are in the middle of our busy season here in the U.S. with our 250th Anniversary of our country coming up so it will be after the 4th of July before I can begin getting back to everyone.  My apologies for this, but there just isn’t time right now for me to answer everyone’s email for feedback.  Thank you all for understanding and for participating in the competition.
