When these effects were shared in April 2025, Finale 3D didn’t support colored smoke. These effects were created by using the effect editor to make customized spark trails containing dense concentrations of tiny colored sparks.
As of June 2026, Finale 3D now supports colored daytime smoke. This means it’s much easier to create colored smoke effects and it’s no longer necessary to simulate smoke using custom spark trails.
