Thanks for the post. We understand the importance of the translations and we have reached out to the Chinese translator a few times. I reached out again yesterday and he replied that he will work on updating the translation next month. If he is still not able to do the translation at that time, we will look at other options.

When will the Chinese translation be updated, I’ve been waiting for two years

Here are some suggestions that I’ve come across while working in Finale (Apologies if some have already been named):   – Utilization of “Fullscreen” with Lite so the script bar is removed. – I’m sure this verbiage will become utilized, but when a shell has “Falling Leaves” in it, make the break either silent or quiet… secondary, add the term “Quiet” or “Silent” to be utilized with Slightly and Very as well as by itself to lessen the noise of a shell. – Utilize the term “Loud” so you can increase the noise of Salutes without using the effect editor. Slightly and Very would modify this term. – Ability to “randomize” shell/product launches in Lite; if already a premium feature, that’s fine; I do have a workaround. – Have the music bar static from the scripting bar; when you start scripting a lot of cues, the scripting bar gets extremely messy and gets hard to see where the “peaks” of audio are to align your cues with.   I believe this is everything I can think of that hasn’t already been mentioned either directly to Drew or via another post…

Hi Curtis, I think you’ve probably just stumbled on a kind of crackle that isn’t represented in VDL. There are so many variations of crackle. We added several common kinds to VDL this year but there are certainly more. For now, the best approach is probably to use the closest kind of crackle that VDL supports and then tweak using the effect editor.

It may just be me late at night, but I’m trying to figure out how to add a pearl that will emit a very sparse delayed crackle along with the other color pearls that are in there… I’ve got 0.25″ 40.00s 0.20 PFT 280 Shot Red Green Yellow Candle but it also contains soft almost whisper like crackle pearls in the candle as well.

Hi Curtis, based on Finale 3D VDL terminology, you’re absolutely on the right track with ‘White Strobing Willow’. You’ve just bumped into a current VDL limitation. You’ll need to add the red tip using the effect editor. Here’s a quick video tutorial:

Hey Drew, thanks!   The popping was ONLY with the mp3 file, not the WAV file (although it does sometimes make a “pop” sound when I hit play).   I was using the menu item, but I’m not sure why it wasn’t working. Now that I have the music file loaded and it is playing properly, no need to delete.   I could see if I can recreate the issue if you want though.

Something weird with the ‘stobing’ description. If it were me I’d probably use something like this to work with: 1.2″ 0.40s 0.20 PFT 13 Shot Red Comet w/ Silver Willow w/ White Strobing Mine Cake Slice Z Shape (1 Row)
