There are two kinds of universes in Finale 3D. A standard "Universe", which is equivalent to a firing system, and a "DXM Universe", which represents a set of DMX fixtures. Even though the names are similar, "Universe" and "DMX Universe" have different meanings. If a show is produced using a single firing system controller and only needs one script file, it has a single "Universe". If a show is produced using multiple firing system controllers and needs multiple separate script files, then it has more than one "Universe". This video tutorial demonstrates the difference between "Universe" versus "DMX Universe", and how to properly configure positions to get the desired result when exporting your script.
