That worked excellent – thank you for the advice. Looking forward to playing more with the new effects!
Perfect, thanks!
I’m using the Hobbyist version.
Hi DB, in the interest of simplicity, the Lite version of Finale 3D doesn’t include module constraints in the addressing dialog. But if you’re running Hobbyist or Pro, you can definitely address your show using the algorithm and assign your standard 1.4 to different modules than your 1.4 Pro. Are you running Hobbyist or Pro?
Hi Brett, welcome to the Finale 3D forum and congrats on your first post! In VDL terminology, the effect you’re looking for is called “Red Strobing Willow”. More specifically, a Red Strobing Willow Comet. There’s just one problem – it doesn’t exist in the latest full release of Finale 3D. But there’s good news! The day before Cobra-Con, we published a new beta release with tons of effect improvements including brand new VDL effects. To get Red Strobing Willow and all the other new effects, head over to the Download page and grab the latest beta release. After installing, try this VDL to make your cake: 30mm 0.50s 13 Shot 90 Degrees (a) Red Strobing Willow Comet w/ Green Strobing Mine Cake, 1 Row (aaaaaaaaaaaaa/FNR)
Hi Gfkiley, welcome to the Finale 3D forum, congrats on your first post! The built-in Product Totals report is sorted by Size then Part Number. PDF reports can’t be customized in Finale 3D Hobbyist. Upgrading to Pro would allow you to customize reports. Alternatively, what you can do in Hobbyist is save your report as an XLSX instead of a PDF. By exporting as XLSX, you can change the sort order to anything you like using Excel.
Is there a way to do a product totals report sorted by part number not size in hobbyist?
I’m a new user to Finale3D (Thanks to Drew helping me at Cobra Con) and have been building out some of the Raccoon pro line slices. Ran into two issues with slice/fan cakes I can’t figure out. I’ve got some comets that have tails that: A) Have a color other than gold or silver B) Have a strobing effect in the tail. RA142004 is a good example The tail is red and strobes. I can’t replicate this well in VDL. I’ve notice I can make tails have ‘color’ in regards to the head of the tail and same with strobing, but can’t generally impact the behavior of the tail itself. Am I missing a VDL directive to handle this? thanks, Brett
Is there a way to address a show so that a certain type of firework is restricted to 1-2 modules? I’m creating a show that has both 1.4 and 1.4Pro and I want all of the 1.4 fireworks on the same module(s) separate from 1.4 Pro. Is this possible automatically or will I have to do this manually? Thanks.
Older versions of the Jingduan firing system don’t support CSV script files. Please contact the company that produces the Jingduan firing system to upgrade to a version that supports CSV files. Pyro_12750000, can you help?
