Thanks Drew!   The rack was basically a super long line (dimensions were way off). It's not a big deal for me, I just thought maybe someone else had success creating a slice rack since Craig Co has their other products in the catalog.   On the subject of dimensions being off, is there an option to have all user setting default to imperial instead of metric? I'm the stereotypical American that can't handle the metric system ;)   Also, is there a way to print the GPS coordinates of positions to aid in site layout setup? The only thing I have found is the white grid diagram. I was hoping to have a way to print the google maps background with my positions and coordinates of each position. I'm doing some angled shots and would like to have the effects line up as close as possible to the simulation.   Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the video and the answers Drew! My issue was I was looking for the word soft breaks in the item descriptions.

Here's a video that demonstrates how to create a 24 shot fanned mortar rack, create a shell for the rack, chain-fuse shells together, and load shells and chains into the rack.   https://www.loom.com/share/e7f618e8e5b64ff9af4e51d38802a5fc

Thanks for the opportunity to use Finale 3D to enter the PyroJam contest. It's a bit of a learning curve but figuring things out hour by hour.   I'm not finding the "Soft Breaking" items in the PyroJam inventory list. I think I know which ones are considered "soft breaking" but I don't want to set angles wrong and be disqualified because of that. Any help locating those would be great.   I know the rules state you can use any music you want, but is there a possibility of getting disqualified because the rights to particular songs cant be obtained?   Thanks for the help.

I have mortar racks consisting of four angled racks with six mortars each, for a total of 24. I like to fuse them perpendicular to the racks so that each angle takes turns going off. I usually set them off sequentially in a Z pattern with anywhere from a quarter second to five seconds between each mortar canister shot.

Thank you for starting this thread Drew so we have one place to put responses to any questions folks might have.  I think it worked well last year and expect it to do the same this year.   I recently had a question about whether a previous finalist could participate this year.  The answer is "yes by all means".  The goal here is to end up with the strongest shows possible so not only can a previous finalist (or even winner for that matter) submit an entry, no one is limited to a single entry.  There is no limit to the number of entries someone can submit, we just have to have them in by March 4th :-)   Good luck to everyone, we are super excited to see all the great show designs you submit.

Are you having creating the effect? Or trouble adding the shells to your script/timeline/show? Or trouble creating the rack? Or getting your shells to go into the rack? Or something else?   You mentioned fusing, would you like all 24 shells chained together on a single chain fuse? Do you have a picture of the mortar rack you're trying to simulate?
