Perhaps the rack that’s added to the layout isn’t the rack you’re editing. I’d be happy to investigate if you’d like. Send your show file to support@finale3d.com.

Thank you, that does the trick.
Modify the diagram report you want to use and change the “Tube text top” fields to Address, Angle, In Center
How I can get the rack graphics in the Rack Layout Per position diagram to look how I want it with rail-pin and angle. See this: https://app.screencast.com/dxpRzgZQuS5tn I have tried a few custom diagrams but they all seem to default the rack diagram and not to the one I need. I’m using the Pro version. Thanks
Hi Jonathan S., happy to help. Effects and racks are matched based on size, type, and rack type. Additionally, an effect’s angle must also be compatible with the rack. Looking at your screenshots, size and type don’t appear to be the issue. And given the rack structure you’ve selected, angle also seems unlikely to be the problem. The screenshots don’t show the Rack Type column in the effects and script windows, so rack type could potentially be the issue. Fortunately, you don’t have to guess. Finale 3D has a feature that will tell you exactly why the effect can’t be loaded. Just drag & drop an effect into the rack then right click on the effect in the rack and select “Why is this tube red?” Let us know what you find!
Hi, I have certain products that I can’t get to load into my custom rack and I’m not sure why. I seem to been under the parameters for the rack which is between 20mm (min) and 50mm (max). I’ve included screenshots of the item properties panel as well as for the rack. I hope it is just something obvious that I’m missing but I’ve changed parameters around and it doesn’t seem to resolve the issue of auto loading when I click “load into racks”. I can drag them manually but they stay red when I do that.
I tried the Script > Time Adjustments > Shift times….still no luck. Compared the audio files in audacity and they look the same. Finally, resigned myself to doing it piecewise manually. Still couldn’t figure it out. Since I can’t have the two versions side by side in Finale, I took a screen capture of one. Zoomed in and saw I was lining up with the wrong beat in the song 🙁 For the first 10 seconds it lined up. User error 🙁 My old boss use to say, never underestimate the abilities of a determined idiot. Thanks for the help. Got it lined up now.
Hi Muzzey, selecting timeline events, and dragging them by clicking on one of the cue flags preserves the relative timing, so I can’t imagine how this alone would cause the cumulative error you described. Another way to move events while preserving the timing is to go to Script > Time Adjustments > Shift times. If you have the same problem using the “Shift times” feature, that may suggest something happened to the soundtrack in the editing process.
Hi Thibz, great question. Report and labels templates are stored in show (FIN) files as “blueprints”. Each blueprint in a show is represented as a row in the Blueprints window, which you can access from the Window menu on the main menu bar. To delete a blueprint, simply delete the corresponding row in the Blueprints window.
