I want to do a slow up flash effect

I want to do a balloon slowly rising, hanging flash up the effect. The duration is 30-60 seconds, resulting in a parabolic fall to the ground after launch. I want to go up at 2 meters per second, similar to the slow rise of the UFO effect, how to set?

Reply To: New supplier Catalogue

Welcome to the Finale 3D community!   The most important thing to know before creating a supplier catalog is that the majority of the work involved is creating the simulations for the products. If you have experience using Visual Descriptive Language (VDL) to create effect simulations, the project will be fairly straightforward. If you are not familiar with creating effects, you can certainly learn, it will just require more time.   Once you have imported the products into Finale 3D and created the simulations, you can simply send them to us and we will publish the catalog.

AWESOME!  Success!  I watched most all your video and was pretty sure I remembered seeing it in there somewhere – and about having to save it.  Just couldn’t recall which video it was in.  It’s a lot to learn – the nature of a big, flexible software with lots of options.  Complex = Flexible vs. Simple = Inflexible.  I like having options.  Thanks Drew.  See you at CobraCon ’24

U’King PAR lights – Have you built yours to work?

I see we have access to a few U’king lights but nothing I have.   Before I start down this road of building the lights to work if someone has done it already.  I am looking to see if anyone has built their own and would be willing share it.   I have the 8 Channel, LED 15w PAR lights.   Thank you Charles

Hi Rick, “unnamed” indicates that your FDB effect file hasn’t been saved. To save it and give a name, go to File > Effect files > Save.   FDB effect files are stored offline on computer. The name listed in Finale 3D is the same as the filename of the FDB file on your computer’s hard drive. If you want to change the name later, just go to the folder where the FDB file is stored and rename it.   Check out: https://finale3d.com/video/how-to-store-your-effects-offline-using-fdb-effect-files/

DrewFinale wrote: If you mean the position group shortcuts that appear on the left side of the main Design window then the answer is yes, absolutely. You can also add your own camera presets on the right side of the main Design window. These are features for the user’s convenience to streamline show design.   For PyroJam, what you cannot do is add positions, remove position, move positions, rename positions, or anything else that changes the position layout.   Yes, I mean groups on the left side. Thank you so much. Good Luck everyone!

How to rename a (new) effects collection file in the Effects screen of Finale3D?

I just created a NEW effects collection file and it appears in the drop down list as “Unnamed effects file.”  I would like to change the name of it. I’m creating a new show and have fireworks left over from a previous show in my PHYSICAL inventory.  And I would like to separate those out from others I do not yet own. Thank you, Rick
