We have done our best to create the most accurate effect simulations possible based on the information available, but we realize everything is not perfect. Improvements will most likely not be made to the catalog before the competition ends on April 1st.
Hey all, coming from 15 years ago out of Finale 2D software, and just now realizing that my machine which had the drivers for my DeweyCoon S12C firing system (old PyroUniverse.com folks might remember…) is in the great computer server in the sky. So I was hoping someone still had the appropriate Arduino drivers that might work with Windows 11 and the last version of PIC that was released back in 2014 I think. I know it’s a long shot, but this forum is about the best chance I’ve got. Unfortunately, without those drivers, I’m unable to move my Finale 3D scripted show into PIC and on to the S12C, leaving me (gasp) manually firing a small upcoming show in May. If anyone has a lead, let me know. Otherwise, if anyone is selling a Cobra system… *sigh*
Hey group, hoping for some good news, but not expecting it. I’m an old-timer who started using Finale 2D about 15 years ago, and I had a decent hobbyist setup that used the old “DeweyCoon” S12C controller to fire a bunch of 32-cue modules. (FJ Pyrosystems.com, which is no longer in business). The system was an Arduino-based setup that would use the OpenPyro software called “PyroIgnitionControl” to be able to fire scripted shows that were imported to PIC via CSV scripts exported from Finale. Finale was configured to export in the format that PIC required, although the CSV file needed some manipulation before being read into the PIC software. However, today in the Finale 3D software, all reference to the openpyro based systems seems to be gone. Is one of the selectable systems based on the same architecture? And for that matter, I can export a CSV for any system and mess around with it and get it in the right format for PIC, but second question: Does anyone have the arduino drivers for the PIC software archived anywhere? It won’t recognize the COM port without drivers, and the computer that used to shoot my shows has long since bit the dust. I’m guessing I’m stuck with manual fire until I finally join teh cool kids with Cobra or something else, but hoping that someone might see my plea here. Thanks!

Hey Finale Community! Older user of Finale 2D from the early days, PyroUniverse.com and all that. Took a hiatus, came back and things have really moved forward! Excited to get back into it and looking forward to following you guys…

Hi Vaillantfireworks, Yes, this is normal. The PyroJam 2026 catalog does not include “available” quantities. Please see: https://finale3d.com/contests/pyrojam-2026/#product-quantities
Hi Drew, First, thank’s for this new contest. Secondly, I would like to know if it’s normal if I don’t see quantity available concerning all products of different catalog ? Thank’s Best regards. P-A
Hey acfarrey, I saw your edit so I didn’t jump on this right away but I still wanted to follow up with some info that might be useful for you or anyone who comes across this post in the future. The sync error could have been caused by an internet connection issue, a temporary network error or a technical issue on our end. With the current sync process, it’s almost impossible to pinpoint the exact cause of some errors. The good news is that we’re about to release a new sync process to improve performance and reliability, and provide clearer, more helpful error messages. However, if you ever have trouble syncing for any reason, it’s critical that you back up your effects before closing Finale 3D. If you close Finale 3D without making a backup, any unsaved changes will be permanently lost. Backing up effects is quick and easy, you can find the steps here: https://finale3d.com/documentation/saving-a-backup-file/ The sync process only applies to online effect collections (My effects, supplier catalogs, Finale Inventory accounts), not to show files or anything else. A common misconception is that syncing saves shows online, but that’s not the case. Show files are only saved to the location you choose on your computer.
