Dear All I have this persistent problem. I like creating shows in Finale. Then I export them as generic CSV to further process them in excel for my firing system, In Finale I group shots firing from the same rack into one cue so as to limit the amount of used channels. However when I export the file in generic csv these are ungrouped again into single shots using the same channel and I have to stay regrouping them. Is there a way so that groups are maintained when doing the generic export. Thanks in advance.
Hi, welcome to the forum. You can change your name to a more meaningful one in the profile. It is hard from here to say if something is wrong or what will be wrong, because it depends of all the different addressing settings. A first step could be to sort the script for Rail and than Pin adress to see why and where pins are missing or if adresses are duplicated. From the summary i see it looks like that some effects are chained , so you should check that also Dirk
I have 240 mongoose cues in my show, with 4 of them being fireballs, so I understand they might not show on the Ematches. When I assign addresses The numbers come out wrong. Used Modules – 5 (Correct) Used Pins: 230; unused pins: 10, should be every pin. Ematches: 226, should show 236 if the fireballs arent counted. I have it set to 1 ematch per pin, what could I be doing wrong?
Hi Drew, hope you are fine, thanks for the feedback, and we will wait for the new feature! Thanks agains
Hi Fogos Xingu Fireworks Group, welcome to the Finale 3D forum, thanks for posting! At this moment, it’s not really possible to limit the angles and effects on a position. I can add this to the feature request list. Right now, the filters in the Script window are probably the best way to help you keep track of the items in your show.
Looking at the photo of the cake on the PyroLand website, it’s doesn’t seem like the size (i.e., caliber) of the cake is 2″. But without measuring the ID of the tubes it’s difficult to say. If the size is correct, here’s an example VDL description: 2″ 0.00 PFT 25 Shot (a) Rising Skinny Very Long Silver Whistles Comet To Titanium Salute Cake, 5 Rows, Rows 1,2,3,4 (1.0/aaaaa/STR/4.0), Row 5 (1.0/aaaaa/STT)
Update: rising whistle sounds are fixed in the latest beta release (2023.06.28-02ea5cb9a) Release Note 10. Effects: Fix bug causing ‘rising effects to shells’ to not play the rising effect sound. (So now, ‘rising whistle to blue peony’ will get the whistle sound like it should.)
Hi Mark, Brett is exactly right. You need Pro to adjust the built-in reports or to create your own custom reports. In Lite/Hobbyist, you can copy data from any table window and then paste into Excel.
Yes, you can edit the Cost and Price for any effect in any version of Finale 3D (Lite, Hobbyist or Pro). The Price field, like many other fields in the Script window, is read-only and is linked to the effect definition in the Effects window. You can edit the price for your items in your My Effects collection, or, if you only want to adjust the price for the current show you can edit in the Per-show effects collection. Can I edit effect price in F3D Pro? I want to edit the cost column in the script window and make the cost reflect my invoice. it acts like its a locked column I can’t I simply fill it in and drag to duplicate? like excel.
