Feedback/wishes on new Google Maps (beta) dialog & Site Layout Diagrams

i like the new function. As it is in beta maybe you want to consider the below input for further improvements:   1) Would be great to be able to rotate GoogleMap before we add the ground. With this in addition the default camera presets (Front, Top, Side) could still make sense considering the audience perspective.   2) Maybe we can add an option to add an compass rose to the print out of the site layout diagram, of course under considering the heading rotation mentioned in point 1.   3) In shows with an bigger amount of positions i wish to have a possibility to colorize them. (position arrow in editing & rack window & diagram print out) This could be work through an input field in a column in the position window. This way we can make tight site layouts with an big amount of positions(e. g. 100 and more) more readable for the crew. This way you can show your crew logic position dependencies. For example a front of 20 single shot positions should have one color. The Shells which are shooting from 5 Position could get another color and so on. Also the Safety Distance optionally drawn in the site layout should consider this color.   4) Also a option to print out distance rulers between defined positions would help to give the crew helpful setup information. The actual grid gives you an idea but not the right detail to setup on an exact way onsite.   5) An option where the print out of site layout draw the whole circle of the Safety Distance on each Position would be great. With the option to colorize the radius as mentioned in point 3 you be able to recognize a bit better which positions exactly is responsible for a part of the safety zone.   6) Finally it would great to be able to style the rack window optic with all the same options as we can do it in the print our of the site layout diagram.   Thanks for reading....... Reply To: Issues with visual display script timing

Welcome to the forum! You didn't do anything wrong, we just haven't quite gotten to the project of making the timeline adjust automatically. To extend your timeline and increase the length of your show, go to 'Show > Set show duration'.   Looking at your screenshot, it also looks like you're running an old release of Finale 3D. To take advantage of all the newest features and improvements, get the latest release from the Download page.

I feel real smart right now… 🤦‍♀️  No, I had been leaving it on the supplier list only.  Thanks for your help, really appreciate it!

Issues with visual display script timing

Did you try the fireball effects in the built-in Generic Effects Collection?

Gas Mine/ Fireball

Hello,   I'm looking for a fireball/ gas mine/ super nuke effect. I haven't been able to find anything in the effects... Do you happen to know of a similarly styled effect I can use as a placeholder, or possibly point me in the right direction for creating a simulation?   Thank you!

Reply To: Saving Shoot Site Layout

Yes, absolutely! You can save a site layout just by saving a show and using it as a template for future shows.   Option 1) Get everything set up to your liking, then do 'File > Save' to save a show file. Then, each time you need to design a new show, do 'File > Open' then 'File > Save as' to save a copy and start a new show.   Option 2) Get everything set up to your liking, then do 'File > User settings > Save show as start-up template'. This will replace the default blank show with your show, exactly as it's configured. With this approach, Finale 3D will automatically launch using your show template.   Why these options?   Because all of the digital assets for a show are saved directly in the show FIN file itself. This includes not only the positions, effects and the script, but also the music, camera presets, position shortcuts, scenery (background images, Google Maps, 3D models, etc.), and everything in 'Show > Show settings'. The show FIN file also includes "blueprints", which means report, label, and diagram templates, and custom table layouts (which are represented as puzzle pieces in the Effects and Script windows).

Saving Shoot Site Layout

Is there a way to save site layouts?   Example: I will be shooting the majority of shows from one location. It would be helpful to be able to save my preset google maps view, field layout of positions, and custom camera views. Thank you!
