“Select all events using this effect” behavior the behavior of this function from the effect window should consider SHIFT holding to make multi selections in the show.
We’ve gotten reports of audio playback artifacts in Finale 3D, such as popping, clicking, or static. Below is a screenshot showing how the issue appears on the Finale 3D timeline. We know that the problem is specific to MP3 files. We aren’t sure why some MP3 files work perfectly, and others cause this issue. Bottom line, we plan to improve how MP3 audio files are handled as soon as we can. In the meantime, there is a good workaround that resolves the issue 100% of the time. All you have to do is use an audio editor, such as Audacity, to encode your music as a WAV file instead of an MP3. You can then import the WAV file into Finale 3D. Or, if you prefer to design your show using an MP3, for example because you are planning to use with the Cobra Audio Box, you can convert your soundtrack to WAV and then back to MP3. Here are the steps: Using Audacity (or another audio editor), export your soundtrack as a WAV file with a sample rate of 44,100 Hz and 16-bit encoding. Import your WAV soundtrack into Finale 3D and design your show. Additional steps for the Cobra Audio Box After following steps 1 & 2, restart Audacity or go to File > New to start a new project. In the new Audacity project, go to File > Import > Audio and import the WAV file created in step 1 above. Go to File > Export Audio and create an MP3 file with a sample rate of 44,100 Hz, bit rate mode of Constant, and quality of 320 kbps. Import your MP3 soundtrack into Finale 3D and design your show. Load the MP3 you created in step 5 into the Cobra Audio Box to fire your show.
Hello, my name is Magnus. I come from Denmark. i’ve been making fireworks shows for the last 10 years and in my own opinion am getting good at it. Here’s a link to the show I’m most proud to have done.
Multiline ShowNotes Wish to have a multiline Textfield under the Show Information Dialog where i am able to collect several notes which coming in during the scripting and planning process. This note could be for example hints for the preparing team, additional show informations and so on. Additional a report of the show information then should also be possible.
Thanks Drew, that explains it.
Report concatenate/calculate columns I wish to have the possibility to configure a free column via the “edit report” dialog which is fillable with functions that are using the information of other columns. I want to use it for calculation of integer columns or concatenate some string columns into one.
There isn’t a VDL term defined for “7 arms” at the moment, but you can do 8 arms with the term “Octopus”. Here’s an example: 5″ Very Dim Very Thin Charcoal To Green Octopus w/ Purple Pistil
Hi Pyro_86840000, That depends on whether you’re running Finale 3D Lite, Hobbyist or Pro. Finale 3D Lite includes a basic set of built-in reports, the only export option is PDF, and the sort order on the reports can’t be changed. Hobbyist includes a wider array of built-in reports and allows you to export any report in a variety for formats including XLSX (Excel). Pro allows you to fully customize your reports including which columns are visible, column order, how the rows on the report sorted, font sizes, conditional formatting, and more.
Hi PyroDad, the Hobbyist version does not populate rack and tube assignments. You can do this manually using the ‘Rack’ and ‘Tube’ columns in the script window. We have given a great deal of consideration to which features are available in each version of Finale 3D. I’m sorry, we don’t anticipate making a change in this regard. “Actually, a great feature would be to be able to assign a specific rack part number for each effect” This functionality already exists! You can match effects with racks using “Rack Type”. For example, if you have some single shots that require rack ABC, and other single shots that require rack XYZ, go to the effects window and enter ABC in the ‘Rack Type Default’ column for the ABC rack, and XYZ in the ‘Rack Type Default’ column for the XYZ racks. Next, for the events in your script, enter either ABC or XYZ as needed in the ‘Rack Type’ column. Then, when you do ‘Racks > Add racks for show’, Finale 3D will automatically add the appropriate number of each rack. This functionality is available in Hobbyist and Pro.
