Reply To: default-pathname question

Hey NEC, I just updated the Default pathnames, documentation to clarify that directories are not automatically created when generating individual reports, labels, and diagrams, but that the Print Batch functionality does automatically create missing directories as needed. Here's an excerpt from the documentation article:     ...If you include a directory in your Default Pathname, such as C:Shows2025, note that the directory structure must already exist beforehand (if you are printing an individual report). Otherwise, the save location will revert to the last used directory. In other words, if your desired save location is C:Shows2025, you will need to create a directory named “Shows”, and a sub-directory named “2025” before generating the report. By contrast, if you use the Print batch feature, you don’t need to create the directories beforehand — any missing directories will be created automatically.

I noticed that yesterday. You may want to add a note about what that means in the alert message on top of the supplier catalog page.

Welcome to the Finale 3D forum and thanks for posting!   Even though we chatted by email, I wanted to follow-up with a reply here on the forum to benefit everyone.   The example scenario you gave on inserting a new track in an existing track sequence makes perfect sense. Based on your feedback, we're going to add a new option in Script > Tracks titled Renumber tracks, which will reassign the track numbers chronologically.   Several of the columns in the script window, including the Track column, are sorted alphabetically because they support values containing both numbers and letters. For FireOne, numerical sorting is ideal, but some firing systems use letters to identify tracks, and some systems even support full track names as part of their track numbers. As a workaround to the alphabetical sorting, just including a leading 0 in your single digit track values, as in, 01, 02, etc.

Reply To: Fancy angle colors

Welcome to the Finale 3D forum and thanks for posting!   At this moment, Finale 3D doesn't have a feature that will allow you to adjust the shade of the color for the 'fancy angle colors' on labels. Sorry, I know this wasn't the answer you were hoping for. Adjusting the colors may be a feature we can add in the future.

And, more times than not just to make a generic drop show something I don’t have to click through in the field. I’m about 3/4 of the way through my script and it has been such a fun experience! Anyway…there is a question here… Just curious, do you share the scores of the submissions with us? I don’t necessarily care what everyone scored. But it would be awesome to know how far off I was from being in the top three. Thanks again for putting this together! Hello and thank you for participating in the competition.  In the past, once the competition has ended and I get some time, I am happy to share the judges' average score for your show with you as well as any comments the judges may have left while scoring your show.  All you have to do is shoot me an email AFTER the competition ends and be patient haha.

Hey PyroExec, the 62mm Dominator sims weren't just moved, we created a brand-new sim for each product to more closely match the manufacturer demo videos!   A 2.5" professional display shell (which is 63.5mm dia.) has a default burst height of 76m (250ft) in Finale 3D. When we created the new sims, we made an educated guess that a 1.4G 62mm shell wouldn't break as high as a comparably sized 1.3G professional display shell. This is just an educated guess. When it comes to things like burst height, diameter, etc., often the best we can do is guess because manufacturers don't provide height specifications for their products.   In response to your concern, today I reached out to Ed Vasel, the US rep. for Dominator. His instinct is that the 62mm single shot shells break almost as high as a commercial 2.5" shell. So, I've gone ahead and increased the height a bit.   When we make sims, we do our best to make them representative of the real-life products. At the same time, it's always worth taking any demo video or simulation with a grain of salt. When it comes to the real-world products, all kinds of characteristics, including height can change from one batch to the next. If you're doing a show where the height is critical, there's no substitute for real-world testing.
