Hi Jonathan S., to make formatting adjustments to the printed rack layout diagrams, go to the blue gear ⚙️ in the upper-right corner of the racks window > Create or edit rack diagram template > select the template you would like to edit. In the configuration dialog, you’ll need to scroll down using your mouse wheel or the scroll function on your touchpad to get to the ‘Rack layout diagram settings’ section. Here are some settings to try:   • By default, the diagrams are centered around the position, try centering the diagrams around the ‘Center of racks’ • If your rack layouts are typically wider than they are tall, try changing the page orientation from Portrait to Landscape • If the above to settings don’t enlarge the racks enough, try setting the ‘Width’ option to a negative value   Tip: best practice is to enter a new, personalized blueprint ‘Name’ and ‘Title’ in the configuration dialog. This will create a new blueprint instead of changing the built-in rack_layout_diagrams blueprint.     The set of colors that represent the module/pin numbers are predefined and currently can’t be changed.

Hey Curtis,   Try experimenting with the duration of the effects to get some extra droopiness. For single shots or individual shells (or tube effects that you plan to combine into a cake later), you can specify duration with a number and “s”, like 2s for 2 seconds. As part of a cake or other complex effect, you’ll need to use a number followed by the term DUR, like 2 DUR. The duration applies to the burn time of the stars or the main part of the effect, and if you don’t enter a value, a default value gets used according to the caliber of the effect.   Here’s an example of a 1.2" Brocade effect with various durations set to achieve various levels of droopiness. Setting the duration like this, combined with using other VDL modifiers like Slightly Big or Very Small, and trail modifiers like Long Trail or Slightly Short Trail should be able to get you nearly any level of droopiness you need!  

Excuse me some one know where I can fill the number of the sequence in Finale 3D for FIRETEK Script?… so that when we export the script for FIRETEK this fills the sequence column in the script, also if is possible the sequence name.  

One of the BIGGEST hurdles when creating VDLs is the Description window… here’s a list of things that need fixed for that specific box “description”:   1) The box should wrap the text to a new line so you don’t have to search the box for an effect or part of the “code” 2) You should be able to resize the description box to accommodate effects that take a lot of “code” to create 3) Ctrl + Shift + “arrow key” should be adapted to the common usage that applications like Word has where when going left or right it highlights the next word instead of JUST the space next to it. 4) If there is a lot of text in the box, Ctrl + “arrow key” doesn’t show your position in the box while trying to scroll through the “code” (having a better UI for the description box would help this a LOT)   There’s probably a LOT of UI changes to VDL that could be made, but having to utilize an external application to help write the VDL shouldn’t need to be used.   Thanks, Curtis

Just curious, I know the color “Peach” somewhat works for gold strobing effects, but when is “Gold” going to be turned into a color vs. an descriptor/editing term? Another VDL I’ve noticed is the “droop” on some brocade shells in consumer fireworks… in Finale, Brocade or Brocade Crown shoots too straight and there isn’t a way to make the stars fall quicker. I know you can make the trail of sparks bushier or thicker, but you cannot make them droopier.   These are more suggestions than needing help, but thought I would write down my thoughts that I’ve incurred while making VDLs this past week.

Many of the cakes that were in the competition are cakes I actually use and I have not seen them in the catalog. What about common brands such as Winda (their catalog needs a TON of improvement), Brothers, World Class, Cutting Edge, and I am sure there are many more? I have never seen Fire Factory or Great Grizzly fireworks anywhere near where I live. Are you going to prioritize by most used/available? Popularity?

Hi, Trying to find a way to increase the size of the rack layout images, right now it seems like they are only taking up a very small portion of the page if printed. Maybe 25% currently, would be nice if we could fill the page so it’s readable on site right now not very readable. Also are the bottom rack colours, that run in the bottom left corner 20-24 changeable?
