Hi everyone! My name is Mark, I’m located near Cheyenne Wyoming.

I grew up loving fireworks and over the last several years have continued to grow my annual backyard 4th of July show. I’ve always been fascinated by pyromusicals and I’m finally going to try my hand at one this year. I’m also taking the PGI Display Operator class in a few weeks, excited to keep learning all I can! Looking forward to learning more about Finale 3D over the next several months!

Hi everyone, I’m Martin from the West Midlands, England.

So a little about me and my world of pyro, I lit my first firework at the age of 4, then fascination just grew over many, many years, from small backyard shows “a box of fireworks and the occasional sparkler” to ever increasing scales of madness…. Back in 1993 I was given the chance to be part of a professional show at my local football ground and from there on I was totally hooked.

From that first moment until now I have had the privilege to work on and be part of over 1600 professional shows and from 2017 I have had the incredible opportunity to move into the international world of pyro, working in places such as, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi.

I first started using Finale 3d way back in it’s infancy when I ran my own fireworks company, sadly that ended back in 2020 due to “you know what” but now a new opportunity has arisen so I find my interests turning more to the inner workings of shows such as pyromusical design but I still love getting my hands dirty, that will always be my main pyro love.

It certainly is a massive learning curve from the first baby fountain so many years ago to working in Dubai for NYE but what an exciting journey it is and hope there will be many more years of excitement to come.

Thank you to the Finale team and all they do and wishing everyone on here all the very best on their pyro adventures.

Hello,  my name is Matt Green.  I am from Avilla Indiana.   I own and operate Camtor Pyrotechnics, since 2004.  My introduction to fireworks started at a young age, as most of you probably have as well.  In 2003 I began my journey into the professional side, completely by accident.  A group of friends were just trying to figure out a way to legally purchase professional fireworks, and I volunteered to look into the process.   One thing led to another, and my wife and I decided to go all in and create a professional firework display company.  It started with just one show for several years, then quickly grew.  Now we do 40 plus displays a year and have a crew of 70 +/- .   We do a good portion of the displays in northeastern Indiana.  We are continuing to grow, but now the challenge is finding new crew members that are qualified and have the desire to do what we do.  Many quickly realize that this business requires a lot of time.  The long hot days, and sometimes back to back days, are not for everyone.  As we have evolved as a company, I have realized the benefits of scripting programs like Finale3d.   This program has saved so much time when putting shows together, and with all the new style of compound cakes it is so helpful to have the control on timing.

I look forward to talking with you all and hearing your stories!

    Kind regards, Matt

Hello, my name is Mark, and I am located in Lake Saint Louis.  I don’t own a fireworks company as this is just supposed to be fun for me Ha.  Just trying to learn here and get efficient with Finale definetly a lot different than show creator.  Looking forward to learning some things here and hopefully getting my questions answered, and maybe one day I will be able to return the favor.

Hello all! My name is Jonathan and I am located in South Western PA. I’m the designated “fireworks” guy at my family gatherings and events. Most of what I set off is donated by others so I’m going to be making a lot of 1.4 effects.

Doing the trial of Lite right now to see if it covers my needs. This year is the first time using a firing system so we shall see how it goes!

Good morning everyone. My name is Terry from the west coast. My company does pyrotechnics and I’m starting to use Finale 3d for my designs. I am a member of Alliance of Special Effects & Pyrotechnic Operators, (ASEPO), Western Pyrotechnics Association, (WPA) and  International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, (IAAPA). I am a California License Pyrotechnic Operator First Class, Pyrotechnic Operator Theatrical and Pyrotechnic Operator Basic Commercial. I also have my Entertainment Firearms permit, California Flame Thrower permit and I also hold a Federal Explosives License, (FEL). Some of the companies I have worked for are Disneyland Fireworks, Legoland California, Six Flaggs Magic Mountain, Dreamworks and Universal Studios Hollywood. I have been in the industry for over 35 years and want to learn more about the design aspect. I have designed shows over the years, but really want to create spectacular new designs. I wish all of you a safe fireworks season.

Me and my team are member of Súlur Björgunarsveitin á Akureyri, a search and rescue team based in the town of Akureyri in northern Iceland. Our team is part of ICE-SAR, a nonprofit, noncommercial, volunteer-based organization that provides search and rescue services on land and at sea across Iceland. As part of our fundraising efforts to support the team’s operations, we have a group of volunteer pyrotechnicians who organize fireworks shows. These shows help generate vital funding for our association.
