Will replied to the topic DMX light simulations
Adding onto Simon’s answer about light fades, most pyro+DMX controllers do not implement a ramp function in hardware, so the only way to implement a fade is with a rapid sequence of events. That can be an issue with the controller’s script rows limit, as Simon points out, but it doesn’t totally rule out the idea.
Here are the steps we are…Read More

Will replied to the topic editing the part # in per show effects
The part number field is editable in the per-show effects table, but since the part number field is the key for effect rows it is not possible to have two rows with the same part numbers. That may explain why the part number appeared to be not editable in the table.
Bear in mind, the script rows contain part numbers that are references to…Read More

Will replied to the topic Programmazione Firemaster & sequencer omnifire
TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH:
I managed to design a small demo show in order to get to know the software but when I arrived at the time of programming I encountered some difficulties:
I use Firemaster 3 and I encountered the problem with the beeps that are too close to me (firemaster requires 0.50 sec. Between one beep and the next) and if I put 100…Read More -
Will started the topic Does anybody object to replacing “Show > Go back/repeat” with looping?
The “Go back/repeat” menu item, and more importantly the hot key shift-space, moves the playhead back to most recent starting point. Does anybody use this feature?
We are adding a looping feature that lets you set loop start/end markers on the timeline, and then the playback loops in between the markers. With the new looping feature, it s…Read More

Will replied to the topic Does anybody use ‘Select next/prev position’ menu items or tab hotkey?
That’s a nice idea and easy to do. I’ll add that to the list!

Will started the topic Does anybody use ‘Select next/prev position’ menu items or tab hotkey?
Looking for ways to simplify the user interface and remove menu items the nobody uses. Does anybody use these two functions or tab, shift-tab to cycle through selecting positions?

Will replied to the topic Anybody have feedback on the new filter/selectors UI of effects window in beta?
The full release was launched today. The effect icons have a sub-button for the preview again, and the full release contains a very long list of minor improvements.

Thanks, Tristan. Can you tell me what middle click means? On my chrome browser the tabs have an “x” close box near the right edge, and my mouse has only a left and right button, so I’m not sure what you are describing.

Will replied to the topic Anybody have feedback on the new filter/selectors UI of effects window in beta?
Thank you, Simon, I was not aware that the close box on the search field also cleared the quantity filter. As you guessed, that’s a bug, and I just added it to my list for fixing prior to promoting beta to release.
I also added to my list,

Yes, confirmed, I have already added back the preview, and improved it by adding a “sub-button” to invoke the preview instead of hovering the cursor. I am a little confused about the release notes because I thought that I had added it back in the current beta but I don’t see a mention of it in the release notes. The next release will come out t…Read More

The latest beta holds the menus open without requiring shift-click, to make multi-select easier, and it creates clickable and deletable buttons (“hotdogs”) to reduce the number of clicks required to switch between different colors or other attributes. Does anyone have feedback on these changes, positive or negative?

Will replied to the topic Laptop specs for F3D
The GPU is the most important part of your machine specs for simulating large shows. Do not get a machine with only “Intel Integrated Graphics” or “Intel HD Graphics” which basically means the machine does not have a GPU. We generally recommend Nvidia GPUs, though it is not a requirement.
Two things I’d like to add related to Nvidia GPUs s…Read More

Will replied to the topic Galaxis G-Flame VDL File
Jim, are you saying the standard Galaxis G-Flame simulation that is part of Generic Effects looks bad? Here’s how the standard g-flame sim looks on my computer (a sequence of shots from left to right, showing the sim at different offsets in its lifetime). Is this also what it looks like on your computer? If so, reply-back with a picture or tw…Read More

Will replied to the topic Notes Script Column not in filter options
Good bug report, thank you. It was an oversight on my part. I just made the Notes column have capability of becoming a filter/selector. The fix will come out in the next beta version next week.
