Just a quick reminder to everyone that the deadline for entries is midnight, March 1, 2024 (technically 11:59 p.m. on March 1st to be clear). Couple things to check before submitting: 1) Does your show include a title and theme? 2) Did you use the PyroJam template provided? 3) Is your show between 9 and 10 minutes long? 4) Are all of the products from the PyroJam catalog? 5) Is your show within the budget of $25,000?
Hello, we are in the middle of a large project to improve DMX support. The project includes new DMX capabilities and a new process for defining your own DMX fixtures. Currently it is possible, but difficult, for users to script for DMX fixtures that are not already supported in Finale 3D. In the current process, the user needs to create DMX effects for his fixture one by one. In the new process, the user will define “the fixture” instead of defining “the effects”. After the user defines the fixture, Finale will automatically define the effects without requiring the user to create them one by one. The DMX project has two major phases. Phase 1 = add DMX capabilities Phase 2 = add new process for defining fixtures We are currently in the middle of phase 1. The new capabilities we are adding are, 1) Support for “ramp” features for firing system controllers that have the ramp capability; and automatic support for simulated ramps for firing system controllers that do not have ramp capabilities. The simulated ramps automatically use multiple script rows to interpolate between “from” and “to” values with multiple samples. The simulated ramps are like little stair steps. The smoothness of the simulated ramp depends on the sample rate of the interpolation, which the user can choose. 2) Support for fades. 3) Support for color blends. 4) Support for “latest takes precedence”. If you overlay a long effect of a blue light, for example, with multiple shorter effects of different colors, the resulting light color will be blue in between the shorter colored effects. Currently Finale doesn’t support overlapping effects like this. Phase 1 of the project will be finished in Q2 of this year. Phase 2 will give users the ability to define their own DMX fixtures more easily. This phase will be finished in Q3 or Q4 of this year. Your question mentioned blinders and LED bars. I don’t know how well our DMX capabilities will support these specific features. Our first goal is to support all basic par lights and moving head lights. After completing that goal, we will turn our attention to supporting DMX fixtures that are more unique, like LED bars. Regarding blinders, can you describe what kind of support you want? For example, are you talking about stage light blinders that can be manually adjusted, or blinders that can be controlled via DMX?

Hi Marius, a Finale 3D show (.fin) file contains 100% the digital assets that have been added to the show. This includes the effects, images, models, and music. You can send a show file to any Finale 3D user anywhere in the world and the show will look and sound exactly the same on their machine as it does on yours.

Hello guys, is it possible in the future to add a dark mode option for the interface (Script panel, effects panel ect ) ?
Hi Community! Here is Matteo from Italy. I’m an IT expert and innovation manager. I started doing fireworks more than 10 years ago, immediately after I started to study pyromusicals and how electronics is applied to the fireworks industry. Today I’m totally comfortable with the industry and I design pyromusicals, always innovating and trying to be as much creative as I can. Thank you for this new opportunity to learn anything new.
English translation: HI, I HAVE A PROBLEM, MY PTX C4 DOESN’T SEE THE PTX2 EXPORT FILE. I MADE A DEMONSTRATION, I EXPORTED THE FILE TO MY PTX C4 PYROTRONIX FIRING SYSTEM, BUT IT DID NOT SEE THIS FILE, I CAN’T LOAD THE DEMO. Happy to help. To troubleshoot the issue, we need some more information. Please send these items to support@finale3d.com: 1) Your Finale 3D show (FIN) file. 2) Your Pyrotronix (PTX2) script file that you exported from Finale 3D. 3) If there is an error message on your screen, please send me a photo or screenshot of the error message.
English translation: HI, I WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU WERE EXPANDING THE DMX SECTION WITH NEW DEVICES TYPE: LED BARS, BLINDERS, BEAM, AND IF THERE WERE SPECIFIC BRANDS IN THE CHOICE OF MACHINES TO USE, THANKS Ottima domanda. Aggiungo il mio collega Will alle conversioni in modo che possa darti una risposta. Great question. I am adding my colleague Will to the conversions so he can give you a reply. Will, can you reply to this user?
