Hey KrisPbrown, try Blue Peony w/Blue Tail or Red Peony w/Red Tail or White Peony w/Silver Tail. If that doesn’t give you the desired result, let me know. We’re 100% with you, a glossary of VDL terms is long overdue. We have one in the works, the only hold-up is a large effect improvement project that we’re trying to wrap up. I can’t find the broken link you mentioned, can you point me to it or reply with a screenshot so I can get that fixed up right away?
I have exactly the same problem, I managed to find that it is a conflict between windows 11, Finale and Google Maps.
Hello, I am new to Finale 3D, but I’ve been able to program a couple songs already. I am struggling with cakes that have tails on the launch then break into aerial displays. I’ve tried switching out “&”, “+”, and “with” to no avail. I am including a link to a cake I am trying to make and the first 3 shots have tails as they launch. Does anyone have any tips on how to recreate this? Also, is there a glossary of effects that Finale 3D recognizes in VDL? I saw a link in the documentation, but it throws an error when I click it. Thanks in advance! https://youtu.be/4jtEaMOxgmM
Hi Ron, we’re making good progress on effect improvements, and leveraging the improvements to flesh out supplier catalogs. I still don’t have a precise release date yet but we’re pushing to get it done as soon as possible.
Thanks for the great report. We are investigating this issue and will get it fixed as soon as possible.

Your observation that the simulation appears as though you were trying to create a long exposure photo is exactly right. The problem is that the setting your show that controls the camera duration was somehow changed to a value greater than zero. I’m not sure how it could have happened, but it’s very easy to fix. All you have to do is go to Window > Per-show settings window, then search for cameraExposureDuration and change the value to 0. Hello Drew, actually it’s strange, it happened after having created photos of the show. I did what you told me and it works everything is back to normal, thank you very much! Good day Drew, see you soon!
Great shows finalists! Thanks to Tim and Drew and the Finale crew for allowing us all to participate in this fantastic contest!
