In the fan creation tool, it would be very helpful to be able to either define a total range (as it works now) or start/end angles so asymmetric fans can be created more easily.
Thanks! I guess I’m blind and missed the Safety Distance Meters option right where is should be!

Can you give us a confirmation, an email? Hi Marius, this question was answered here: https://finale3d.com/groups/english/forum/topic/pyrojam-2023-official-discussion-topic/page/5/#post-1490557 The only confirmation is the message displayed directly on the competition submission page. We will contact you if we have any trouble with the WeTransfer link or your show file. Given the number of show submissions and the show submission deadline of March 4, 2023, it’s just not possible for us to check each show to provide individual feedback on whether the show meets all the competition requirements. We would hate to see an excellent show be disqualified because of a rules violation, but we have to rely on competitors to take responsibility for ensuring their shows meet the competition requirements. If you show is not in the top three and therefore doesn’t make it to the live competition, you can reach out for feedback as described in this post: https://finale3d.com/groups/english/forum/topic/pyrojam-2023-official-discussion-topic/page/6/#post-1507551

Hi NEC, thanks for the requests, replies inline below. NEC wrote: Safety Diagram Really liking the safety diagram feature but would like to see the following: — Option to not trim the circles. Example: Potential client wants a show but is giving options for shoot locations. I’d like to be able to place positions in the different areas, add effects up to the maximum size that would keep safety distances and send the report with an explanation of what each position would accommodate. Today I make these in Google Earth. This option doesn’t exist at the moment. I can’t promise we’ll be able to add it but I understand the value and I’ll certainly keep it on the request list. — Option to set safety distance per position or position group to accommodate close proximity (low/no debris) along side standard effects (maybe this is available already but I’ve not figured it out) Good news, this option already exists. You can specify the safety distance on per-position basis by right-clicking on a position in the Design window and selected ‘Edit position properties’. In the properties dialog, simply enter your desired safety distance in meters in the Safety Distance Meters field. As the name implies, you must enter a value in meters. If you need feet, you’ll have to convert outside Finale 3D and enter meters. You can also enter position safety distances directly in the Safety Distance Meters column in ‘Window > Positions window’.

Engineer Cat wrote: Yea I figured it would be difficult to do that but was just curious. That’s cool you guys are willing to provide feedback if asked. Thank you for all your help! Just wanted to address the feedback portion of the competition. Please direct any requests for feedback directly to me at timj@pyrojamusa.com or timj@ipcdisplays.com as the folks at Finale do not have anything to do with the judging of the shows. This is done by a group assembled by our company. I will be happy to share feedback from the judges for those who request it, just don’t want Drew getting bombarded with requests. He has enough on his plate haha. Also, please be patient with us as it will take us quite some time to go through all the shows, score them all, etc before I can even think about giving feedback on individual shows.
I just want to wish all the other pyrotechs that submitted or will be submitting shows GOOD LUCK. Can’t wait to see what everyone scripted. With Drews info, auditing positions using the filters worked out great. So I just wanted to share the filtering I used to make sure all the effects are in the correct position so none of us have an issue with entries due to effects being in the wrong positions. This one seemed to be the easiest way (for me at least) to recognized cues out of position. Pick a group of positions and have the size and subtype next to each other. Filter by the best way you like and just quickly scroll down the list. The items that should not be there will pop out at you.
I was able to make the individual song files work by adjusting the way I exported them. Uploaded one at a time. Thank you for your quick response. Appreciate.
Hi Junk_Pyro, I think the problem may be the bitrate or another Audacity MP3 encoding setting. Can you share a screenshot or photo that shows the options that are selected when you export a song or soundtrack from Audacity? Alternatively, you can try exporting from Audacity as a WAV file and importing that into Finale 3D.
