Hi Pyro_29800000, “FNL”, “FNR”, or “CTR” are VDL terms used for specifying the firing pattern for cakes. Typically, VDL itself isn’t included on reports, but if your products include these terms in the part numbers, then any built-in report that includes part numbers will give you what your need. For example, try the “Wiring Script” report. This report is sorted by address and meant for show set up, where as the “Cue Sheet” is sorted chronologically and is meant for use by an operator who is doing manual-electric firing using a pin board or similar. Additionally, many of the reports, such as the Wiring Script report, include the “Notes” column. Therefore, another solution would be for you to add the info you need in the “Notes” column of the script window and then it will automatically appear in corresponding column on reports.

Set my real world fixtures

I have 4 par lights and I created 4 Dmx fixture   Positions in finale 1is the master the other 3 are the slaves in Finale3d now in the actual real world fixtures do I set 1 as the master and the 3 other fixtures as the slaves or do I make them all master ? I am thinking that if I did that I would I would only have to make 1 position  as the master in finale and the other 3 set to it as slaves in the real world is that correct?

I see what my issues is, last year I had hobbyist, this year I tried Lite and it doesn’t have that feature. I might have to shell out $200 more to get hobbyist…

The primary variable that affects height is the diameter of the shell.  But you can modify this by using a HTM value (height in meters).   Specifying the height, duration, and fan angle of effects in the cake (HTM, DUR, Degrees)

what factors determine the height when you are using the custom simulator to edit an effect?

Thank you, Drew! I appreciate the explanation. I was going to start testing all that out this weekend. You just saved me a few steps, so thank you again!

Reports in Hobbyist version

i know that everything is not available in Hobbyist.  here is my question: When printing the Cue sheet reports, I am looking to see if there is anywhere that lists “FNL”, “FNR”, or “CTR” for fans and slices, etc.  i see it in the part number on the labels.  Is that indication available anywhere else? ~Brian
