Effects Importing From .txt File

Is there a way on the LITE version to import effects?  I followed the video tutorial, but do not have the option.  Is it only available in upper licenses?

Just click Download to download the show file and then open it using Finale 3D.  If you're prompted to login to Dropbox, click Or continue with download only at the bottom of the login popup.

Reply To: Edit Show from Another Machine

Easiest way to deal with this is to save the show file and any .fdb files you may have created to something like Drop Box, Google Drive, One Drive etc. that you have access to.  You can edit on either machine and when you open from the shared location on the other you'll be sync'd.  I'd also HIGHLY recommend you save at least one local copy after major edits...just in case

Edit Show from Another Machine

I Purchased the Extra Machine License today.  What's the process of working on a show from two different locations, do I need to e-mail myself a copy of the file each time I save it and then save that to the other machine?  I'm on the "Extra" machine right now, and I can't see the show that I last created on the Primary machine.

Reply To: Editing part numbers after the fact

Hi Bryan,   You can sort your labels any way you like because you have Finale 3D Pro!   Here are some resources for you:   Forum post with instructions on changing label sort order   Finale 3D Fundamentals Pyro Unleashed Podcast Series Episode on customizing reports and labels   Labels Basic Instructions documentation     Updating part numbers in My Effects won't cause any change to the script. To update the script, you’ll need to replace items that have obsolete part numbers with the updated items. Here's a tutorial video that demonstrates how to replace effects: https://finale3d.com/video/inserting-and-replacing-effects-with-keyboard-shortcuts/   Script events are linked to the effect definitions in the ‘Per-show effects’ collection. If you update part numbers directly in ‘Per-show effects’, you will break the links to the script events, which is not good. If you update part numbers in Per-show effects, it's critical that you replace items that have obsolete part numbers with the updated items.

Editing part numbers after the fact

Hello Finale, In a feeble attempt to standardize part numbers for MY Effects, I realized that after I scripted the show, I could not sort my labels by manufacturer. The part numbers I devised do not have a manufacturer identifier.  I tried to edit the PN by clicking the PN box, but 1) that appears to take the effect out of My Effects, and 2) it does not change the PN in the script. Is there a way to update my PN's with a manufacturer identifier in My Effects or Per Show Effects that will update the Script PN so they can be sorted that way?   Thanks Bryan
